Why MLA is important

1. Allows reader to cross-reference your sources easily

2. Provides consistent format within a discipline

3. Gives you credibility as a writer

4. Protects yourself from plagiarism

Using a consistent format helps your reader understand your arguments and the sources they're built on.

You can find MLA format at Prentiss Hall Reference Guide, Composition textbooks, at the website www.mla.org,and OWL website

MLA Style has two parts works cited page and parenthetical Citations. You can find great examples at the power point slide or the mla website.
