Jonny Woods - Sensations

“Sensations”

The tall green grass, growing ever slowly

The deep waters, edging ever closer to the shoreline

A tumble weed rolling, persuaded by a fast paced wind

The rain falling, making everything wet and fresh

The fire burning, blazing away impurities

The fragrance of the rose garden, strong and brilliant

A fresh apple pie, sitting in a lone window while it cools

The acrid smell of sulfur, putrid and inescapable

Smoke, from a candle wick right after it was blown out

Salty mist, permeating on the deck of the old vessel

Too much salt in the spaghettis, the flavor played havoc on my tongue

A lime in the martini, for just a twist

Fruit is my favorite vegetable, sweet to the taste and healthy for the body

When I have an upset stomach, the sweet taste of a spoonful of honey made me feel better

I could only imagine how it would be to eat a snail, a slimy and snot tasting substance

The hinges in the old door creaked with an unrestrained vengeance

The water poring over the side of the mountain and crashing into the rocks below was deafening

So low was her whisper that I had to strain to hear her

The sound of bones breaking were audible, as the large cats tore at their meal

The wind though the tree leaves, always put me in a calm and peaceful place

Each blow that was dealt was like an avalanche, almost too much to take

As I ran my hand along the old musty bookshelf, it didn’t take long to find what I was looking for

Sharp and sudden was my pain after snatching the rose, blood trickling down my forearm

So gentle was her caress that it made me forget to breathe for a time

His fingers flew across the keyboard, touching each character like a note in a digital symphony
