Erin Walker-Intro

Hi everyone!

I haven't been a student for quite a while but I'm excited to be here. In the years since high school I honestly haven't done anything to further my education until now. I think this was mainly due to bills that required paying, not a disinterest in learning. I've always had a desire to learn and better myself. English and science have always been my best subjects, so I have my fingers crossed that college will be something similar to riding a bike where those are concerned. I'm not very tech savvy but I have a facebook page and I participate in a few internet forums, so I know how these things work already. Anything much more complicated than that and I'm in hot water.

My personality is sometimes hard to understand, but I am easy to get along with. I'm very practical and methodical about most things.  I'm also very grounded and down to earth. I have phases where I will be incredibly idealistic, but my head always comes down out of the clouds eventually. My interests are numerous but include; gardening, walking, hunting, skin care, botany, juicing, and cooking. I live in the city in an apartment, but I still do a little container gardening these days. I have a particular fascination with carnivorous plants, but I don't currently grow any due to a lack of space and time. I am very interested in the DIY culture, especially where personal care products are concerned. It's a hobby that requires a lot of research, experimentation and chemistry. If anybody has an interest, hit me up with any questions and I'll point you in the right direction. Other than all that, I'm a very physical person. I'm not necessarily into sports, but I do like yoga and hiking, which I need to do more of. I also try not to talk about religion or politics in polite company because it has the potential to make the company considerably less polite.

I'll have to put up a pic sometime later. Nice to meet everyone!

  2. Erin- you seem like a outdoors lover. I enjoy hiking and yoga, so we could most definitely get along! I could probably relate to you. I firmly believe that religion and politics shouldn't be spoken about, because like you I feel strongly about both. Although this was brief it explains you and you did a great job! Hope to get to know you. :)

  3. Have you ever tried yoga by Giambi? It is amazing and so relaxing. They have a.m. and p.m. videos that you can do to start your day or end it. I am sure that I spelled that wrong but if you have heard of it you know what I am talking about, and if you haven't, I will be happy to get the right spelling and info to you

  4. Don't sweat the computer stuff to much, it will come with time. Windows is like a picture based, connect the dots after you start understanding how it works. If you have any question that I could help you out with on that, hit me up. I've been working on computers professionally for about five years now, I don't know everything, but I know quite a bit about them. You'll get there, I promise. :D

  8. You sound like a very organic person. I wish i could do better with that part of my life. I admire your self-sufficient attitude. I feel like the world works against me sometimes when I try to simplify and make things myself.
